Workshops
The Coordination of Pedagogical Services at the Colegio de San Ildefonso and Ernst Saemisch A.C. invites the public to attend art workshops where they will develop skills and engage in artistic creation inspired by the work of Ernst Saemisch. These workshops have various pedagogic and artistic goals.
Mónica Ortega, an artist and academic specialized in art and design, offers the workshop Abstracción natural, on Saturday in March and April 2025. She encourages participants to reflect on the connection between community and nature in their own context, discovering personal forms of expression linked to Ernst Saemisch’s work.
The workshop “Estudios de naturaleza a tinta. Arte y vida y naturaleza,” offers the participants the opportunity to explore the work of the German painter Ernst Saemisch and reinterpret it through ink-on-paper exercises. Held on weekends from January to May, 2025.
On the other hand, the workshop Abstracciones geométricas provides a space where the participants can discover Saemisch’s work and reinterpret it through drawing exercises using dry techniques. Tuesdays, from February 14, to May, 2025.
The workshop Dibujar en San Ildefonso allows participants to draw freely in various areas of the Colegio de San Ildefonso, with guidance from professionals specialized in drawing. The workshop takes place on weekends from January to May 2025.

Reflect on the connection between community and nature in our own context while developing expressive abilities through drawing and abstraction using different techniques.

ESTUDIOS DE NATURALEZA A TINTA / ARTE, VIDA Y NATURALEZA
Based on the Nature section, participants will reflect on the beauty of nature and its ability to inspire art. Using ink, water, watercolors, and paintbrushes of different thickness on rice paper, they will explore their creativity by synthesizing lines and creating bold black strokes, resulting in an ink work on rice paper.

ABSTRACCIONES GEOMÉTRICAS
After visiting the exhibition, students engage in an abstraction exercise based on lines and geometric shapes. Using selected pieces from the exhibition as reference, they will experiment with lines, spots and geometric figures to identify natural forms.
